Welcome to Over the Rainbow

My name is Heather Richmond, from Melbourne, Australia. I discovered Polymer Clay in 1992 whilst living and working in the United States as an Occupational Therapist. After discovering this wonderful 'new clay' I was immediately and incurably captivated. In particular the technique of 'Millefiori' (creating pictures using clay) caught my imagination - I loved the colours, patterns and textures possible with this technique.

The workshops I completed in the USA taught by some of the amazing founders of the polymer clay movement imparted not only valuable techniques but a vision of the unlimited potential of this amazing clay. I truly believe I will never lose my passion for this material and all of it's endless possibilities, with only one's imagination being the limiting factor! I started 'Over the Rainbow Polymer Clay & Jewellery' while still living in the USA, moving back to Australia in 1996, where I live today with my partner and our two dogs.

For 13 years I produced my polymer clay jewellery designs and sold them at various craft shows, shops & markets. Many customers were fascinated with my millefiori jewellery beads and wanted to learn and for supplies of the products to make their own. This gave rise to my on-line shop which has rapidly grown and now stocks over 20,000 products (always expanding) which now encompassses all areas of jewellery, beading, polymer clay & mixed media.

Over the Rainbow is a secure 'one stop' on-line shop for Polymer Clay, Resin, Tools, and a huge range of Jewellery Making Supplies & Beads including Swarovski Crystal, Beadalon, Artistic Wire, and TierraCast beads & findings.
We are based in beautiful bayside Seaford, Melbourne & are an on-line shop, but not a shopfront business that you can visit. By not having the overheads of a retail shop we can keep prices low for our customers, however we can offer store pickup for local customers.

Our aim is to supply jewellery, polymer clay and mixed media artists with all the latest high quality products available at great prices. We pride ourselves on friendly and efficient customer service! We also host workshops on polymer clay, metal stamping, & chain maille here so keep checking our workshops section to see when they are listed.

Our staff include myself, Verde (our CEO Miniature Schnauzer) Imogen (our Security Guard Shih-Tzu-Poodle Cross), Diane, Colleen, Mary-Lou, Jan, Pam, Narelle, Debbie, Tamara & Lorren.
