Also known as larimar blue crazy lace agate for its stunning resemblance to the rare gemstone, larimar, this form of crazy lace agate has been intensively dyed electric blue, offering vibrant contrast of light and dark blue hues with swirling red accents. Predominantly colourfast, however, because this type of agate is particularly difficult to dye, small amounts of colour may occasionally collect in any naturally occurring grooves. Rinsing in warm water is recommended prior to use. Hard stone (Mohs hardness 6.5-7), for jewellery designs subject to heavy wear, with glossy smooth polish.
