Whether you are linking beads with wrapped loops or making your own jumprings and headpins, wire is a jewellery-making basic. We have .925 sterling silver wire and 14kt gold filled wire in a range of gauges. Our sterling and gold filled wires are available in the standard degrees of hardness of full hard, half hard and dead soft.
* 14K/20 Gold Filled is a durable metal that lasts far longer than gold-plated and is less expensive than solid gold jewellery. This metal is hypoallergenic and will not tarnish like gold plating.
* Sterling Silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper. Pure silver is too soft so the addition of alloys makes Silver more durable and harder. Sterling Silver does tarnish over time, however can be easily cleaned using a silver cleaning cloth.
* Argentium Sterling Silver is real sterling silver - it is .925 percent silver, and the 7.5 percent difference is made up of a trademarked combination of copper & Germanium.
It is highly tarnish resistant and is just a little harder to work with than starndard sterling silver.
