Super Duo 2-Hole Beads
Superduos (sometimes written as "SuperDuos" or "Super Duos") are oval-shaped, two-hole glass beads made in the Czech Republic. Each Superduo bead measures 5mm long and about 2.5mm wide at its center. The center of each bead is just slightly wider than its ends.
Super Duo & Twin beads look very much alike at first glance. They both have a puffy oval shape and two holes, and they're both 5mm long. However, they differ in four main ways.
1. Shape. Superduos (SDs) are more precisely manufactured and are more even in size and shape than Twins. This means much less culling, or removing and throwing away, unusable beads from your stash.
2. Mass. SDs are more substantial than Twins; in addition to being more evenly shaped, each bead contains more glass.
3. Price. As a general rule, the basic colors of Superduos tend to be more expensive than the basic colours of Twins (about 20/gram).
4. Colours. Superduos are available in slightly different colours and finishes than Twin beads.
